Help Needed

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get the Student Pack, but the thing is I have Mutiple documents. My college ID doesn't have a date because it is issued only once when you enrol. My Registration slip for the current year doesn't have a photo because the college doesn't put photo in payment proofs. My dashboard shows the date when my course started so I can't put it as a proof. In reality if I put all three together then there is undeniable proof that I am a student but on their own the three things are not sufficient.

Now the problem is that GitHub won't allow me to upload pdfs. I can't click the Mutiple pictures or take a photo of a collage of these three proofs from my computer screen. There is not help email or anything.

Can someone please tell me how I can show all three as proof and get this pack. Advance thanks to anyone helping out.

As you stated. GitHub Education only lets you upload one image file (JPG/PNG), so the usual workaround is to combine your documents into a single image before you upload:

1. Take photos/screenshots of each document (student ID, registration slip, dashboard screen).

2. Combine them into one image: Using any image editing tool ie; MS paint, online editing tool etc...

3 Make sure your name and the current academic year/valid enrollment are all clearly visible in the single image.

4. Upload that combined image as your proof when applying for the Student Pack.

If your ID lacks a date, it’s fine as long as the other docs together show you’re currently enrolled GitHub Education reviewers do accept combined evidence.

If you get rejected, you can reach out directly to their support.

It doesn't let you upload anything; it expects me to take a live photo from my camera at the page itself. I can't do it that way. Also, it rejects the application if I take the photo of the collage I made.

There is no way to reach out to anyone. At least I can't find a way, if you do, please let me know.

The upload option is not always available, in which case you'll need to take a photo with your device's camera:

Your first and last name, complete school name, and a date demonstrating current academic affiliation must appear in your document.
Make sure the image is clear and easy to read; if it looks blurry, please take a new photo. 👈

Try using a tool such as OBS Studio's virtual camera system to display your academic proof in OBS. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's the only way I can think of to submit the documentation in digital format to apply for the Student Developer Pack.

Tried the virtual camera already it says photos taken from virtual camera are not allowed. Application rejected.

Hey @garimalaata26-creator, then contact support as I suggested earlier. Also remember to log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying, as for some reason the application system gets stuck in a loop even after the required information has been updated.

For me, I was rejected several times trying it on my computer, especially with the extra hurdle of being in an online program. Thankfully my bursar bill mentioned "Online - Out Of State Tuition" and it finally worked doing it with my phone.

Do you have access to a printer? If so, print your documents. Lay your ID on an empty space of your dated bill/receipt. Apply on your phone with a browser that will let you use the back camera. I used the Samsung "Internet" browser as I've heard people couldn't do it with chrome. I have seen "Opera" also works in allowing you to switch to the back camera.

yes, I can change to the back camera, but the documents don't fit the frame. That portal has some weird aspect ratio or something.
