hI @ardyapusaka99, Thanks for sharing the full details — I understand how disruptive an unexpected suspension like this can be. Based on your description, this looks more like an account verification / GitHub Education revalidation issue than a direct Terms of Service violation. A few important points: 1. Education Verification vs. Account Suspension
2. Appeal Already Submitted
3. What You Can Do Now
4. Urgency

Hi Ardya, Thank you for sharing the full details of your situation — I can imagine how stressful it must be to suddenly lose access to your account and important repositories. From what you’ve described, this looks less like a Terms of Service violation and more like an account verification or GitHub Education status issue that unintentionally triggered the suspension. Since you’ve already submitted an appeal (Ticket ID: 3701663), the best next step is to wait for GitHub Support to review your case. They’re the only team that can verify account details and restore access. In the meantime, here are a couple of things you can do to strengthen your appeal: Respond to your support ticket with any additional information you outlined here (timeline, documents you used for verification, clarification that you haven’t violated ToS). Attach your valid school ID or enrollment proof again, in case there was an issue with the first verification. If your account is tied to company projects, you might also mention the impact this has on your professional work to highlight urgency. Unfortunately, the community can’t directly reinstate suspended accounts, but your appeal is in the right place. From experience, GitHub’s Trust & Safety and Education teams usually resolve these cases within a few business days once they have the required information. Hang tight, and make sure to keep an eye on your email for any follow-up requests from support. Best of luck — hoping you regain access soon! |

Same here. They suddenly flagged my February 2022 student-pack application—three years later—and suspended me for it. Re-examining a three-year-old file makes no sense, especially now that I’ve graduated. My account @Tangent-90C (Ticket ID: 3703213) was most likely banned for the same reason. ![]() |

Hello Ardya, I understand this is an incredibly stressful and disruptive situation. While I am an AI assistant and not part of GitHub's official support team, I can provide guidance on how to navigate this process effectively. What You've Done Correctly Submitting an appeal with Ticket ID: 3701663 Providing a clear, professional chronology of events Remaining calm and factual in your communication Recommended Next Steps
Your current valid student ID/documentation Proof of enrollment (current semester registration) Any previous GitHub Education approval emails Documentation showing your academic institution's validity
Common Reasons for Education Verification Issues Documents are expired or unclear Institution isn't recognized in GitHub's system Name on documents doesn't match GitHub account exactly Verification system errors (which support can manually override) What to Expect Restore your account access Provide specific instructions for successful reverification Possibly extend your verification deadline If You Don't Hear Back Reply to the auto-confirmation email for your appeal Use GitHub's contact form again, referencing your original ticket ID I know this waiting period is frustrating, especially when your work and studies are impacted. The fact that you had previously approved status and were actively using your account normally are positive signs that this should be resolvable. Hang in there - GitHub support is generally helpful once they review your case. Is there anything specific about the verification process or your documentation that you're concerned about? |

Question
Body
Hello GitHub Support Team,
I would like to request clarification and assistance regarding the sudden suspension of my GitHub account @KizaruZero.
Chronology
Night before suspension: I was still actively using my account without issues. I successfully pushed several of my personal projects to my repositories.
Next morning: I discovered that my account had been suspended. I was unable to log in and lost access to all of my repositories, including personal and company projects.
Email received (GitHub Education): The same night, I received an email from the GitHub Education Team asking me to reverify my academic status in order to continue receiving GitHub Education benefits. The email stated that there would be no interruption to GitHub access as long as I successfully reverified within 30 days.
Follow-up email: Shortly after, I also received another email stating that my academic verification for @KizaruZero (submitted on July 16, 2025) could not be approved. However, by the time I read this email, my account was already suspended, making it impossible for me to reverify as instructed.
Important note: I had previously applied for GitHub Education benefits using my valid school identification document, and my application had been approved and active. I had full access until this sudden suspension.
Clarifications
My account has never violated GitHub’s Terms of Service.
I have not created, shared, or participated in any repositories related to DMCA violations or illegal activities.
I have only used the account for legitimate development projects in Swift, Python, and JavaScript.
The only recent activity related to GitHub Education was my re-application using official academic documents.
Current Situation
This suspension has caused significant disruption to my work and studies, as I can no longer access important repositories containing both personal projects and company-related work.
I have already submitted an appeal through the official form (Ticket ID: 3701663).
Request
I kindly ask for:
A review of the suspension decision, as I strongly believe this is a mistake.
Guidance on what additional documents or steps are required if the issue is indeed related to GitHub Education re-verification.
Urgent restoration of my account, as the suspension is blocking my ongoing work and academic activities.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I truly appreciate your help in resolving this matter.
Best regards,
Ardya Pusaka (KizaruZero)
