Hello Community,

I'm facing an issue with my GitHub Copilot subscription.

I initially started using Copilot under the free trial and really liked the experience. After the trial ended, I purchased the annual subscription for $100 (one-time payment). It worked well for a while, and I had access to premium models like GPT-4, GPT-4.1, GPT-4o, and Claude Sonnet 3.7.

However, after some time, I noticed that these premium models were no longer available. Eventually, even the standard Copilot functionality degraded, and when I checked my Copilot settings page, it showed that I’m on the Free plan with no active subscription.

This has been ongoing for many days now and is significantly affecting my productivity, especially since I rely on Copilot daily for development work.

I have already paid for a full year. Let me know if any of you is facing the same issue. I raised two tickets in support but there's no update from GitHub side.

1. Check your billing status here: https://github.com/settings/billing
   Make sure the subscription shows as “active” and tied to the correct GitHub account.

2. Try signing out and back in on both GitHub and your editor (VS Code or JetBrains).

3. Clear GitHub sessions in your IDE:

   • In VS Code: Ctrl+Shift+P → GitHub: Sign out, then sign back in.
   • Delete any saved tokens if needed.

4. Check your Copilot subscription settings:
   Go to https://github.com/settings/copilot and verify the subscription status.

If everything looks correct and the problem still persists, the only option is to wait on GitHub Support. I’d recommend replying to your open ticket to bump it. You might also try tagging @githubsupport on X (Twitter) if it’s urgent.

I already did the above steps . Also in subscription settings free plan is being shown.
I raised ticket 2 weeks ago , but no reply is there from github support team

Copilot Subscription Page
Visit https://github.com/settings/copilot to double-check if it still shows “Free” or reverts to “Pro” or “Individual.”

GitHub Support Tickets
Since you already raised support tickets — that’s the right step. If you have the ticket numbers, you can reply on one of them again to bump it for attention. Sometimes it takes a few business days to hear back.

Check for Multiple Accounts
Make sure the email/account that purchased Copilot is the same one you’re logged into — sounds basic, but a few folks I know ran into this exact issue due to switching GitHub accounts by mistake.

GitHub Status Page
Occasionally, Copilot services or billing systems may have outages. You can check https://www.githubstatus.com/ to rule that out.

If nothing helps, I’d recommend continuing to follow up with GitHub support — they’re the only ones who can fix billing/subscription mismatches on your account backend.
