inactive-color lets you override the shadow color for inactive windows; by default, a more transparent color is used.
Reading this, I tried to set inactive-color for the workspace shadow, and was disappointed to see that it isnt allowed ("unexpected node"). Therefore my suggestion is that overview workspace-shadows should gain this option, which would apply to every workspace except the one currently "selected" in the overview. It would allow users to design a much more dynamic and integrated look for their overview that further mirrors the window design as well.
