New open source project: Immich AutoTag – Automatic photo classification for Immich!

Hello everyone,

We are pleased to announce Immich AutoTag, a modest but practical Python script that connects to Immich via its API. Based on user-configurable criteria (defined in a config file), it:

• Uses a pattern to recognize event albums and the tags currently used for classification.
• Applies new tags to mark assets (photos/videos) that are still unclassified.
• Marks assets that have been classified by multiple criteria, highlighting possible conflicts.

The main goal is to help users quickly identify which photos or videos still need to be organized, and to spot potential classification errors. This tool has already saved me a lot of time when organizing large volumes of photos.

Future ideas include automatically creating albums from folder structures, correcting dates, and more—but for now, the script focuses on the above tasks.
