I've created an issue for this here: #752 Could probably add another for the Mini PCIe HAT as well, I just don't have the time right now to write it up. You've done some excellent work getting that going—it seems like with a nice 3D printed case, you could easily replicate the Sony external recorder and probably one-up it a bit, as you mention, by modernizing the idea. I have a GL2 and would love to be able to record straight to a modern Pi :) |

Hi Jeff,
I'm sort of new to Github so I don't know how to make an entry, but I used a Geeekpi PCIE Mini adapter, and a Startech PCIE Mini firewire adapter to get firewire going on a RPI5. There's an entire scene dedicated to using old camcorders to get that "Retro aesthetic" in video, but the problem is those old tape drives are literally falling apart with age. This device allows folks to record directly from firewire, bypassing the tape.
Also your video on Kernel compiling was great and helped me get over some stuck moments last week. Here's a reddit post detailing everything.

So there's 2 new PCIE devices you can add to the list. Thanks again for your contributions, they helped me a lot.
