This error happens because TriliumNext 0.94.0 was built on a system with a newer GLIBC (2.38), but Debian 12.11 only provides GLIBC 2.36. The dependency better-sqlite3.node is triggering this incompatibility. This is a known issue and has been discussed in the project’s issue tracker.

A workaround is to use the flatpak version of TriliumNext, which avoids the GLIBC mismatch. Steps include: download the flatpak file from the releases page, install it with flatpak install --user TriliumNextNotes-v0.94.0-linux-x64.flatpak, and create a desktop entry if needed. If you want to avoid flatpak, you would need to build TriliumNext from source on your own system to ensure native modules like better-sqlite3 are compiled against your local GLIBC version.

Another alternative if flatpak is not a possibility is to simply use the latest nightly. It's pretty stable since it's a release candidate for the upcoming bugfix version: https://github.com/TriliumNext/Notes/releases/nightly
