Policies Library

It would be nice to be able to turn off the policies library functionality. My workflow is that I have a local folder that syncs to github and I save everything there. With the new policies library, this disrupts my workflow, and I find it confusing. I don't always remember if I exported the changes I made, and other times it creates duplicate policies.

Some areas will write back to the policy in the folder, and other parts put it in the library.

Hi,
You can use the provided backup button to export them all at once. They are saved in an app-specific local folder too so you could technically still sync them with GitHub.

If you only use the library and don't re-import the same policies from disk it shouldn't create duplicate policies. I know that if policies are kept in the library itself then the app can track and determine duplicates and only maintain unique policies. If you're seeing a different behavior i'd need to know more details to be able to help and solve it.

It's also possible to provide an option so users can provide a custom folder path to be used as a location where policies in the library are synced to. Will this help with your workflow?

I better understand the library now. Once I imported all my policies from my folder, it was a lot smoother to use, but yes, it would be nice to be able to choose where this library folder is, so I could sync with GitHub.

I didn't have time to implement the sync feature but i'll definitely get it ready for the next update, v2.0.70.0
