Remember that outside of the US, the OK hand symbol is highly offensive (like the middle finger in the US).

You are right, in some countries can be offensive, but it's a unicode character and emoji. Unfortunately all gestures have positive and negative connotations, depending the culture.

AFAIK, 👍 is offensive in some countries but it is already implemented in FA

A-ok or Okay, made by connecting the thumb and forefinger in a circle and holding the other fingers straight, may signal the word okay. It is considered obscene in Brazil and in Iran, being similar to the Western extended middle finger with the back of the hand towards the recipient

Curious fact: Actually the offensive way here in brazil is the exact same hand position, but turned upside down. Try and you'll understand.

This is a quick update to let folks know that we’re refining our icon request workflow behind the scenes, and as part of that we’re going through all open requests and filing them into several new buckets to be addressed.

In this case we’ve added this issue to our new list to be created! We can’t promise any firm timelines right now, but this will help us keep track of it.

We’ll update this issue when the icon is released into the wild 🙂
