Getting string.split(',') error when running from certain directories

In certain directories I get the following error:

browser-sync start --server --files *
~/.nvm/versions/node/v21.7.1/lib/node_modules/browser-sync/dist/cli/cli-options.js:64
    return string.split(",").map(item => item.trim());
                  ^

TypeError: string.split is not a function
    at explodeFilesArg (~/.nvm/versions/node/v21.7.1/lib/node_modules/browser-sync/dist/cli/cli-options.js:64:19)

I'm thinking it has to do with a certain file included in the glob '*'

Is there a better way to handle this?
